I love how much Leafs fans have turned on Holl. Willing to pay a 2nd rounder for a 44 year old.

Eh, just the dumb ones. The really funny thing is that he is a fine depth D at a excellent cap hit that is overall + value despite hard usage.

He is a depth player and they all have expiry dates for fanbases. For the first 100+ games it is still the honey moon, the 'OMG our 7th rounder is providing exceptional value' part of it, but after awhile the mistakes (that all depth players make and if they didn't they wouldn't be depth players) stop being forgiven and the fanbase turns on them.

Someday people will realise the grass isn't greener on the other side, but until then we get AGM's like this.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Also OP, if Josh Anderson played in Toronto, more people would know that he is David Clarkson 2.0
The guy is legitimately terrible. The fact that he escapes the immense criticism he deserves is unbelievable.

Looks like your right. We have gone from Holl is a legit 2nd pairing Defenseman to this......

what is even funnier is the idea that they pylon of Chara would be an improvement for TOR. That says a lot. Considering Chara can't skate for anything anymore. He's so slow. All he can do is simply stand there and be big. Don't ask him to move, follow the puck, or actually do anything.

Doubt MTL is moving Anderson. You can count on roughly 20-30 goals from him like clockwork when he's healthy. He might not be flashy but he'll park in front of the net and crash it and just be a pain in the ass. Which is why teams like guys like him. Especially in the playoffs.

that's a great way to make the team a lot worse, gotta be a troll post. No way anyone thinks Chara is better than Holl, let alone worth a 2nd on top
also that Anderson trade is hilariously bad for the leafs, Kerfoot has almost double the points as Anderson and is better defensively.

6 x 5.5 for Anderson I wouldn't trade for that even with 20 million of free cap space

Why would the Leafs trading the good cost efficient Kerfoot for the Anderson's questionable contract even up? Then for the Leafs to add a 1st...obscene.
Fact is Holl is top 4 Dman .......20 minutes of hard minutes a game, for a good team and good defensive team.
Arizona doesn't nod that

Anyone trading Kerfoot and a 1st for Anderson is either just stupid or trolling leaf fans. I would suspect the latter.

Well Holl is just the current whipping boy, few ever survive that in TO. He's a fine player, not spectacular but solid enough. He absolutely can be upgraded but this is just another fan who's been brainwashed by the Simmons school of pandering to trolls to get clicks. The Sun's coverage is garbage.

If you can count on 20-30 goals like clockwork from Anderson, why has he only scored more than 20 once and never 30 while being 27? Seems like you can expect him to be a 15 goal scorer like clockwork and get very little else consistently out of him. Couple that with his bad contract and he's a bad player to obtain.

But Simmons wrote an article bashing him, so that must mean something other than he is looking for clicks.

this isn't true.
He put in 17 last year in 52 games.
He was injured the year prior.
Had 27 goals the year before that.
19 goals in 63 games the year prior.
Has 9 in 37 this year.

So yeah, the numbers add up, you're going to get between 20-30 goals from his a year.....WHEN he's healthy.
That's the kind of production you can expect from him like clockwork because he's already done it.

Funny how this works. Matthews won't be called a 50 goal scorer because he has never scored 50 but has been on the pace for 50 since his 2nd season but this scrub gets called a clockwork 20 goal scorer and has done so once. Just a dumb double standard.

The point is calling Anderson a lock for 20-30 goals when he's done it once is ridiculous. Anderson is a lock to sometimes have a good shooting season where he scores at or close to a 20 goal pace but never has done it consistently. The facts are there, he's only had 20+ one time.

This is true and if you were able to read his stats you would see he has 1 single season of 20 or more goals. 1 single season. Like clockwork, he's done it once.
