I don't think the Talks have gone well, you need to give talent to get talent. Teams don't want to pay a 3rd for Kessel 50% retained , I think this is fair. Kuznetsov needed to go for cap space. Would you rather trade Backstrom?

i like Kunz but i doubt he waives for San Jose and that trade has neg value for sharks.
Barabanov and Hertl are more valuable and cheaper than Kuz and Haglin and the 3rd isn’t enough compensation to justify the trade and the backlash from fans.

Don't Like the Chyc trade, he's having a down year in ARI and I'd rather let Fehervary continue to improve with 1st line minutes with Orlov on the 2nd pair. I'd rather take the bulk return of Protas, Alexeyev, and a pick.

No thanks to the Fleury trade, I'd rather have Samsonov long term, he doesn't look good on the stat sheet but most of the time he is betrayed by defense and plays pretty well.

Both teams say no to the SJ trade. Kuzy is playing great on line 1 and Hertl + Barabanov signing extensions is going to be a burden on WSH's cap space. I expect SJ would rather get prospects or picks for the 2 anyway. If WSH really needs cap space, they'll trade Schultz and have the 3rd pairing be LuJo/Alexeyev-TvR, or hopefully trade Carlson for someone that would work better at 1RD.

No thanks to the Kessel trade. He's going to get more value than that, and Hathaway is a valuable asset to DC, if they trade him it should be part of a package for someone better than Phil "I don't play defense" Kessel.
