Leafs get marginally better this year, but then can't afford DeBrusk QO this summer and maybe even Crouse's contract. Too many futures given up for really not much of an improvement

They have the #1 rated defense in the league. They need a LD1. They have a ton of back end options.

5x5 expected goals against per 60 - 1.99 is #1 in the league. Throw in the fact they are doing that with the 26th rated goaltending i’d say the D is just fine.

The complaints are about getting a top pair LD to play with McAvoy. Holl would probably be the bruins 10th d man. He’s useless for them.
