Kinda. I am of the standpoint that there is simply no room on a contending team for a $6 million Tyler Myers. However, at $3million, he represents an upgrade over say, a Justin Holl level player.

If he was making $3 million I doubt the Canucks would consider trading him. I really doubt they would trade him while retaining 50%

Considering the Canucks have the fewest goals against per game at 5v5 of any team in the league, it’s not that impressive

First, it would take at the very minimum a second rounder to dump Ritchie. Next up, no chance in hell Campbell signs that contract. He is playing like a Vezina candidate right now and is in the middle of his prime, so he will at least be getting 5mil, which would probably be the most the Leafs could even offer him. He will get higher paying offers elsewhere, so I wouldn’t be completely surprised if he signed with a team willing to pay for someone playing like a Vezina candidate. A team like Colorado, Ottawa, LA, NY Islanders, NJ, Nashville, Anaheim, Detroit, Columbus, Buffalo, Seattle and Arizona would be able to outbid Toronto on a Campbell contract. Out of these teams I mentioned, I think the front runners for Campbell’s services would be Colorado, Nashville, Anaheim, Columbus, NJ, and Detroit.

Colorado could have another Vezina candidate goalie play for them to really make their goaltending scary. A tandem of Campbell and Kuemper would be lethal.
Nashville could go for Campbell to replace Rittich, who likely won’t resign. Having Campbell back up Saros would allow Saros to be better in the long run and not have as much wear and tear come playoff time.
Anaheim is a young team who has taken great strides this year. Gibson has been exceptional, but adding Campbell as a backup would make this team a true contender.
Columbus would be losing Korpisalo one way or another this off season, so solidifying the goaltending would be a must. Tarasov I don’t think is ready for a full time back up job just yet, but Campbell could come in and push Merzlikins to be better or even out of the starter role.
New Jersey has had so many goalie issues this year, and with Bernier going down to injury, the veteran backup to help mentor Blackwood is gone, so bring in Campbell to really push Blackwood for the same reason as Merzlikins.
Detroit could bring Campbell in to help Nedeljkovic with Greiss most likely on his way out. Campbell would push for that starting role or push Ned to be better like Blackwood and Merzlikins.

I think that Campbell likely signs a contract that is close to 5x6-7mil.

Tyler Myers at 50% is still 50% too much, he's significantly worse than Holl is. There is no way the leafs consider that trade unless him and Muzzin are taken out, and the Holl trade is equally brutal for the leafs.
