Not the right kind of prospects for JT Miller. Conversation likely starts with Amirov and a first and escalates from there.

Maybe that's enough for Klingberg, I'm not sure. Probably not though.

Not enough for Miller

And I just don't like the Klingberg trade-- also likely not enough with Ritchie going back. But I'd rather keep Holl and the assets, personally.

Niemela, Amirov and a 1st probably is probably the conversation for Miller.

Absolutely go after Klingberg and I would argue against moving Holl. Send Ritchie, Robertson and a 1st for Klingberg and call it a day.

TOR shouldn't be making that deal if that's what it takes.

Miller would be a great fit, but I suspect they need D depth more than they need him. Just my opinion.

I have no problem going after Klingberg-- just don't like this proposed trade.

And I don't think the one you've proposed gets it done- but likely close. If all it took was a late 1st, prospect, and a cap dump, someone would have likely pulled the trigger already.

Robertson is a pretty good prospect, this is an awfully good package and the reality is if you add salary, salary has to go back so in any trade someone is going to have to go back. Not many teams have space to just add. With Ritchie's favorable buyout, Dallas can just dump him if he doesn't fit their team. Keep in mind, that just because Ritchie didn't succeed in TO doesn't mean he isn't capable of playing. He just didn't fit TO's system.

It 2022, it makes absolutely no sense to acquire the middling Dman Klingberg and lose Holl in the process. Plus the Leafs give up more? JK is good on the PP (Leafs are # 1) and JK is just average at even strength.
Some time might be offer that much for Miller but maybe it shouldn't be the Leafs. Who else do the Leafs have to jettison next season just to fit Miller into the lineup. Then the Leafs have to find another RHD with Holl gone.
