Why would the Sharks do this? Dahlén has more value than a second rounder and Dickinson do no have much value.

Dickinson still has enough value to fetch up to a 3rd rounder, the 2nd rounder isn't the only piece of value here. Dahlen has been good this year, but he's not a world-beater

This doesn't get Dahlen on his own let alone Coe who's 2nd in the OHL in scoring

This is an awful trade for San Jose. Literally nothing of value coming back for Dahlen who had been great and Coe whose top in points in the OHL. This is just ridiculous

I didn't realize Coe has that much value, and there is absolutely value in this deal with Dickinson and the 2nd. Not enough value I suppose, but there is absolutely value there

So there’s a 2nd in the trade, still not much value. Don’t watch Dickinson much but I mean there isn’t anyone in the league with value that has 6 points in 40+ games.

That’s all well and dandy but it doesn’t add much value at all and at some point you have to have offense. Sharks have the same issue with Bonino right now; a more defensive player than offensive and the sharks are still struggling for depth scoring even though he has twice the points Dickinson does.

Dickinson has just been unlucky this season, he has a little bit of offense in him, not a ton
