Hmm. Are you sure you're not a Vegas fan? And/or someone who reeeeally hates Calgary?

Changed the Calgary trade a bit. How does it feel now?

And for the vegas trade, I wonder what do you think they should add to this trade to make it fair? I feel like its pretty even, maybe drop the 3rd round? Idk

1- Still expecting to much in return for what you are offering.

2- You are trying to eat 11+M of cap for them AND handing them a goal scorer with a good contract. This is the equivalent of giving them a four-girl lap dance, complete with poppin' bottles, for free... and then the girls go home with them. They should be paying you like a 1st or a top prospect for all this good lovin' - not getting the best asset in the deal by miles. It's so far out of whack, just start over from scratch and remember they are in a desperate situation.

Value aside, some of which are way off, how is this a quick rebuild? This team looks to still be bottoming out.

It is 11M in contract but Reilly only have the rest of the year left and Zadonov have 1 year after this one. Maybe if we drop the 3rd and they add a 2nd would make more sense, but I think they can easily find a deal without touching 1st round picks or top prospect.

Yeah for like 2 years, but they get young prospect that will be NHL ready sooner than if they only get picks.

No, you misunderstand. That 11M of cap eating is only this season (otherwise known as the now, where they are over the barrel like you would not believe). I didn't even count next season.

Seriously, man, this is beyond a gift. Any GM who would do this deal should not just be fired, he should be arrested and charged. It's psychotic. Take away Toffoli, take away ANYTHING else going Vegas' way and start asking for more.

Not trying to be mean here, just trying to offer some real talk.

I agree, Habs can get really strong really quick in this type of deal. Dadonov is going to be hard to move without giving up at least a 2nd. Smith will be easier but teams will look to buy low on him so teams probably only give up a 2nd or 3rd. So basically you can do the deal as is but remove everything from the Habs and put a 2nd or 3rd or even future considerations IMO any way and that's without taking into account the 11 Mil savings this year or future cap relief.

Well what about this then :

To MTL : Korczak, Kaedan
Smith, Reilly
Dean, Zach
Dadonov, Evgeni
Stephenson, Chandler

To VGK : Lehkonen, Artturi
Toffoli, Tyler
Paquette, Cédric

I posted this trade yesterday, but it looked like some Vegas fan wanted to choke me (which I can understand why). So, for you guys how does it looks? Is it good enough?

Well, straight off the top, you're not getting Stephenson. Not a chance in hell. So talking about the rest is pointless.

Here is how desperate Vegas is getting, there are reports (from guys like Freidman, Serivalli and Dreger) that Vegas is considering moving Theodore or Martinez since teams are looking to buy low on other guys almost to the point of making it not worth their time to trade them. That being said I don't see them moving Stephenson at any cost or Theodore but certainly not for that package and Montreal isn't adding to the original overpayment either.

I think though since Eichel is within 2 weeks of his return you might be able to pry Theodore out with the RIGHT package, maybe something like Theodore + Dadonov for Romanov and a pick in the 2nd round or later.

They might never be NHL ready. The majority of prospects don’t pan out. I don’t really see much here in teh way of top end talent. I don’t see a number one d man of the future. I see probably a low end 1C in suzuki (calm down, that’s not a bad thing, that’s still a very good player), and not much else.

Whats the roadway for this team being relevant in three years?
