TBH, if it’s going to cost that much for the Rangers, I’d say they’re probably better off just trading for one of Lehkonen or Chiarot and not both then.

Sorry but without retention Chiarot only returns a 2nd +3rd (maybe 2 2nds) so there goes one 1st

Lehkonen is not worth more than a 1st + 3rd though, so maybe you could convince NYR to go one for one with Lundqvist but I don't know

Deal should be

Chiarot (half retained cause Montreal isn't trading him for less than a 1st even if the Rangers don't need the retention) + Lehkonen

for

Lundqvist + 1st (maybe we could get a 3rd added but not a deal breaker IMO)

I don't understand the problem with the Habs retianing salary on Chariot and Lekhonen... It would only be for the remainder of the season because they are on expiring contracts and the Habs will need to be at the cap floor once they clean house and get rid of contracts.

I was thinking maybe the Kings since they’ve had to deal with so many injuries on D. Other than that, I’ll admit I couldn’t see many other teams looking to trade for him unless the Coyotes felt like taking on his cap for picks. Of course, his NTC wouldn’t do any help.

Slow down with the paragraph phrases lol and of course your writers are pumping the ol' 1st+ "Asking" price.

We wouldn't give EITHER of Nils or Chytil for BOTH dime-a-dozen habs. Giving up a 2nd & 4th for one or the other is still not wise for us lol

In no world does a 3rd liner in Lehkonen cost a top prospect and a young middle 6 C. Why do Montreal fans always overvalue their players?

For sure the TDL market will determine what these guys are worth…but if that in fact is the price: 2022 1st, Lundkvist, Chytl, and a 3rd….to essentially solidify both the left side of their bottom 4 and their bottom 6…NYR would be smart to consider other options for the 1 playoff run these guys will provide.
