Take your troll posts out of Edmonton to Chicago (hear Chiarelli is being interviewed). Ken Holland isn't dumb enough to do that.
You wouldn't get Broberg in your dreams

Barrie and a b prospect for chiarot and pick will be fine. you guys need a guy that can help your powerplay and as a PP QB Barrie is a good option there.

Holland won't give up Broberg as he wouldn't even give him up in a chychurn trade earlier this year. if anything oilersmight be interested in kulack for a late round pick as a barrie replacement as well

        A few mistakes here:

Petry is not going to get traded for a 3rd, it's reported he'll land a 1st and a good prospect. From Dallas we could switch that and make it bourque and a 2nd for petry.

Lehkonen is not going to be traded for a 2nd and 3rd, its reported he'll land a 1st and 2nd. From. Boston it could be a 1st and a 2nd

Chiarot is not getting traded for the equivalent of 2 1sts. 1st, habs don't need / want broberg. 2nd NO GM IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD TRADE AN 8TH OVERALL PICK AND A 1ST ROUND PICK! NOT EVEN CHIARELLI WOULD DO THAT! Oilers reject 1000%, if anything the trade would be a 1st and lavoie

We don't need barrie, we're not I contention, we don't want defenseman who play like crap on defense and then hangs the goalie out to dry. A 1st and lavoie would make sense though

        Weber isn't going to retire.
Petry would be lucky to get a third, don't know if Dallas would be interested.
Lehkonen might get a second, doubt Boston is a trade partner. Can't have conditions on players resigning.
Take out broberg and that's about the value for Chiarot. Not getting a top prospect for him.

You are literally insane if you think Lehkonen gets a 1st and a 2nd and Petry brings a 1st plus a prospect. I would love to see these “reports” where these players are supposed to get these returns. Especially the Lehkonen one.

The asking price starts at a first round pick, meaning they would like to get a first and that's probably the most they could get. Likely get less cause teams likely won't pay that unless they are desperate.

No way Montreal lets Boston have Lehkonen. Value is close enough for outside the division (2nd + 3rd), but our PP is bad enough without having to face Lehkonen regularly.
As mentioned, you broke the rules anyway. No conditions based on re-signing.

Petry is not being traded for a 3rd. Doesn't matter what anyone thinks of his play or his contract. He'll stay in Montreal unless they find a trade to an American team that makes sense.

Edmonton is not trading Broberg for a rental, let alone adding. If you want to suggest they make that trade without the 2nd, an extension for Chiarot, and full retention for this season, it's still not a good idea for them, but it's slightly less insane.
Montreal doesn't particularly need LD, but that would easily be the top offer and instantly accepted.

We also shouldn't fire Weber into the sun. I'd like it if he took an interest in management and joined our staff in some capacity.

I am fascinated by the expectations Habs fans have with respect to trade values. Montreal is dependent on LTIR and the Player Assistance Program to remain under the salary cap, and yet the Canadiens are the only team in the NHL with fewer than 10 wins this season. Petry, Lehkonen, and Chiarot might be pretty good players, but they are part of a roster that is trending toward one of the 20 worst seasons in NHL history. I wish it could be different for such a passionate fan base, but its just plain bad, and I think that impacts the value of the team's assets.

Apparently Petry wants out, so that weakens Montreal's position further. Lehkonen would be a depth or role playing piece on a better club, and Chiarot likely a pretty solid 3-4 defender on most playoff teams looking for his skill set. Of the three, Chiarot is probably the guy with the highest market value, but a 1st and a prospect is unlikely to happen unless there is a heated bidding war. At that point, teams have to consider the other options on the market, and there are a few good ones.

Or maybe you read it incorrectly? You are thinking the prices start at a first and go up from there? I read it that the asking price is started at a first and will negotiate down more likely.

The Lehkonen one says the ask is a 1st, in no way does that mean that’s what they get. That site also apparently doesn’t have spell check and their sources for the asks were again “reports” which can literally be made up. Petry one didn’t offer any sort of value. The Cold Stove Pod mentioned a trade of Petry to Dallas for a rental Klingberg and both members thought it was an absolute steal for Montreal. That’s for a rental. Don’t see Petry returning much especially if he continues this play.

Holland won’t give up Barrie who he just signed to a cheap extension for a rental that’s worth less and not as good. Downgrade for sure.

You won't get something close to that kind of value for chiarot. He isn't good. And now with the crosscheck rule being nerfed what little value he had isnt there. Whoever pays anywhere close to a 1st is gonna be overpaying

Holland won’t give up Barrie who he just signed to a cheap extension for a rental that’s worth less and not as good. Downgrade for sure.

If it means re-signing bouch LT it's 100% worth it cause you can find a defensive 3rd pair guy in FA for cheap. A guy like bouch will on get more expensive if not signed this offseason
