This makes no sense. Give up a promising bottom 6 grit player and a 3rd whilst being a bottom 10 team to take on arguably worse players on worse contracts who are older.

GM Verbeek just confirmed that they're in a rebuild. Manson is likely getting traded. This trade works for the Ducks probably, assuming they're also trading Lindholm.

Horrible for the Leafs. Muzzin doesn't waive for Ottawa. A big overpay for the very middling Manson (it's 2022). A real weak defence after trading away three regulars.

This is a 2022-2023 team. They signed Manson as a UFA
