Myers is a scratch on your team almost every night so he's basically worth nothing if NSH isn't gonna play him. Cousin's is a solid bottom 6 guy and pens need to upgrade that bottom 6 a little with the injuries that have been occurring as of late. Preds could use someone like Zucker. He'll be back in a week or two and is a very solid 20-30 goal scorer (Maybe even 40 if he's playing with the right guys). Hynes was able to give Johansen and Duchene a bounce back year so I wouldn't be surprised if Zucker did the same. After the playoffs, Zucker would then only have 1 year left on his deal, so you could trade him away and retain half of his contract and get a very good return for him. Zucker might not be scoring, but he's playing really good hockey. The only reason the pens need to trade him is because we need that cap space for Letang, Malkin, Rust, etc.
I mean NSH isn't playing Askarov either - does that mean like Myers he's basically worth nothing too? The fact that a young player isn't getting into the lineup regularly doesn't mean he has no value. He'll get his chance next season, when Benning moves on.
Cousins is a nice, cheap player that can be inserted anywhere into the lineup when injuries occur. He's an effective pest too, which is valuable to a team like NSH that can physically overwhelm teams after Cousins gets under their skins. Seems to be a favourite of the coaches too. I'd be surprised if NSH had any motivation to move him.
As for Zucker, he's an expensive, older player who hasn't been good for awhile now, and never produced much in the playoffs even when he was. It's a little rich to proclaim a 30 yr old in decline still has untapped 40 goal potential. Maybe when he moves onto the KHL or Allsvenskan in a couple years, but he never was and never will be a 40 goal NHLer. It would likely cost PIT a 2nd+ just to dump him somewhere.
