Détails additionnels:
Doesn't have to be BUF but there are teams that see Barrie as a top 4 offensive dman. Teams would for sure give up a late 2nd for him. It's more of a realistic trade that you would see today.

Why? Just giving up a late pick for a depth guy in case of injury doesn't seem too bad of a deal

So the OIlers trade picks one to four for 1.5 years of Sanheim. The other two guys are UFAs. Seems steep price to me

No teams wouldn't. See shayne gostisbehere. It's gonna coat more than a 2nd, unless you stumble into a dumb GM(please don't be adams)

In case of injury during playoffs he'll be good for the team and with the penguins track record of health it would be wise to pay almost nothing to grab a depth guy. If not, some team would be glad to pick him up for their playoff run.

Sanheim is a top 4 dman entering his prime. Giving up a 1st in the 16-32 range along with a prospect and a 4th would be a fair price as the oilers can always re-sign or extend him if he fits in well.

there are for sure teams out there that think Barrie will contribute to their team. I hope he does well wherever he goes but the oilers are better off without him now.

I'm not saying the trade was a fair one, but there are NHL teams that like Barrie without a doubt. Giving up a late 2nd for him that probably has a small chance of being better than him would be a good gamble. He is still an NHL dman but just a bottom pairing one to me. Just looking at NHL GMs today, I know that there is interest in him despite his poor analytics.

Lol. Its not a fair one, but you'll find a GM to take it, that's an oxymoron.

Teams are getting much smarter. No one is taking 5.5 mil for 3 years for a 3rd pairing dman for a 2nd.

Somehow Seth Jones (who is bad) got a huge package in his return and a lucrative contract. He's not much better than Barrie yet he still got a lot in return. Dillon was also traded for two 2nd round picks and there is no way he's that much better than Barrie if he even is at all. And again, the oilers traded real assets for Duncan Keith.

The list goes on and on but there's no way that all NHL teams pass on Barrie for a late 2nd.

He's also 4.5 for 2 seasons after this year
