Conditional picks can’t be linked to a player resigning. They gotta be linked to playoff results, performance, GP, etc

A Lafreniere / Caufield swap makes a little sense on paper, but I doubt either side considers it.

Caufield has a better ppg than Lafreniere does this year and better career PPG. They are both 2001 born so Laf doesnt even have any meaningful age benefit.

They arent adding the equivalent value of multiple first round picks for a lateral move.

I'm hoping the days of the Habs jumping on anyone with a French name/background are over now. Aside from that reason, the only winger trades the Habs should be making, is to bring in C, RD, or picks, by shipping some of our own wingers out.

Habs reject 100%. MAYBE we would do 1 for 1 caufield for lafreniere but even that we probably say no. People act like caufield lost his potential but haven't you heard of a sophomore slump?He still has potential of scoring 50 goals in consecutive seasons, while I agree lafreniere could get good amount of points. I think caufield would be more valuable. Caufield only has 3 points Less than lafreniere, and 13 games less. Caufield is having a BETTER season than lafreniere, maybe we do this trade if we draft bedard/ michkov. But on top of that you add chiarot who would net us a 1st and 3rd at the deadline, you also add mysak who is over 1 ppg in the OHL. He was a 2nd round pick. So essentially you trade caufield ( who is better than lafreniere), 1st, 2nd, 2nd caliber prospect, 3rd, 3rd for ALEXIS FREAKING LAFRENIERE. ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND! HABS REJECT 1000%
