That last spot or two in the west is going to be a dog fight. Oilers have the games in hand but the schedule gets way busier, they have the top 2 forwards in TOI and the 2nd ranked D man.. McDavid, Draisaitl and Nurse have shown fatigue before the Covid pause and they certainly don't have the goaltending. I think the Ducks hold onto the third spot in the west, they can sell expiring pieces at the deadline but still have a really good young piece fill that hole for the end of the year. 2nd in the Pacific just depends on who gets their poop together quicker, Calgary or Edmonton, Edmonton has the horses for sure but I think Calgary is better coached, better D, better depth better goaltending, none of that could matter though Cause McDavid and Draisaitl exist. Don't want to miss a Pacific spot cause then you're flipping a coin with Central teams to get in. If we go by the goal differential theory every team in a playoff spot as of this morning is positive and every team out of it is negative which seems to be the case come year end all the time.
