Description
I know I've said numerous times that Claude Giroux is more likely to sign for more term and more money with the Flyers.

I still think that's the case.

Although I feel less certain about it than I was earlier this month.

Kuzmenko's ELC would probably be signed in the last month of the 2021-2022 season (i.e. April).

Then he would sign a bridge deal in the Summer.

It's what Nikita Gusev did in 2019 upon coming over to the NHL from Russia.

I think the actions of Philly this past week have made it certain that Giroux will go to a contender at the deadline (Colorado), leaving him free to go elsewhere over free agency. It isn't a stretch to think that he could now join the Sens in the off season. What you have here is pretty close to what I think he'll sign here or even elsewhere. Thing is, he would be joining a team coming out of a rebuild and into "another zone".

Best case scenario on Shane Wright? wink

Can’t see Boston adding another LW when they have 5 for 4 slots to begin with and Frederic around too.

                    1. He can go home to Russia.

                    2. He might be able to get something better in the KHL.

                    3. Having his contract terminated to go play in the KHL is exactly what former Leafs teammate Leo Komarov did as well.

                    1. He can go home to Russia.

                    2. He might be able to get something better in the KHL.

                    3. Having his contract terminated to go play in the KHL is exactly what former Leafs teammate Leo Komarov did as well.

KHL has a 13,000,000 payroll entire team maybe he gets 1,000,000
So a guy who has made about 21,000,000
Walks away from over 1/3of that amount to"go home " yeah he waits 2 years to go home
                    Kamarov also made a more

Can’t see Boston adding another LW when they have 5 for 4 slots to begin with and Frederic around too.

                    1. Sanford plays RW as well.

Because Drake Batherson is out indefinitely, Sanford is going to be playing RW on the top line with Tkachuk/Norris.

                    2. When the playoffs take place, Sanford will be an upgrade over guys like Frederic, Bildh, Steen and maybe a couple others.

The playoffs are a completely different animal compared to the regular season.

In 2018, Patrik Berglund refused to report to the Buffalo Sabres and had his contract terminated.

He walked away from 12.5 million.

With Artem Zub signed next season and the emergence of guys like JBD and Lassi Thomson, Zaitsev's role with the team will be even more diminished.

                    It can happen.

But the likelihood of that is very very low.
