The hit itself was dangerous at face value, but if you watch the clip it's pretty clear Spurgeon didn't intend to bash him in the head. Spurgeon has his head turned towards the net the entire time, I don't think he even knew Dvorak was next to him. Spurgeon is also an incredibly clean player, he's been in the running for the Lady Byng trophy for 7 years. Guessing that's why he didn't have a hearing, but if he had been suspended for a game to send a message to the rest of the league I wouldn't have been too surprised.
Hope Dvorak is alright, you never like to see guys get injured.
