Goaltenders take years to develop . . . even longer than defensemen. We drafted Lukas Dostal in 2018 and he's taken 4 years to be ready to challenge Anthony Stolarz for the backup slot in 2022-2023. And you want us to exchange that for a speculative pick that probably won't turn into an actual NHL player until 2026 (if ever)?

- If we're going to grab a Ducks D, I'd rather pay a little more and get Lindholm, thanks.

- The one thing that intrigues me is the OS, even if Boqvist is not necessarily the D-man we'd need.

- Not really interest in Giordano, either. I suppose he could look a lot better next to Colt (and vice versa), but again I'd rather kill two birds with one stone and get Lindholm, if possible.

- Re-signing conditions are no longer allowed, and the Ducks pass on that anyway. Besides, the Blues do not need to trade for any young goalies. They have more than enough already.
