Description
Took a swing for the fences on my trades for sure, especially trying to acquire Debrincat. I feel like Martinez could be had for fairly cheap as Detroit would be one of the teams that could take his full cap hit at the deadline, most of the other teams that could, probably wouldn't be too interested.
Signed some players to entry level deals who I would like and expect to see in Grand Rapids next season, maybe even challenge for a roster spot.
I would expect to draft a centre with our first round pick, won't even speculate who as the draft rankings seem to fluctuate alot and I have no idea where Detroit will be in the standings, I expect them to pick top 10 though.
I would expect this team to be a fringe playoff team and not quite make it but next season should be in the playoffs.

You're not even in the ballpark of a debrincat trade.

What type of players would Chicago be looking at in a Debrincat trade? I'm not sure of their needs for the future to be honest. I figured I would send a couple Czech guys to play with kubalik.

I think I'd rather just keep Vrana. Debrincat is better. But the price to acquire him doesn't make sense for a rebuilding team like Detroit. Plus he'll likely get 9-10 mil AAV on his next contract. I don't like paying wingers that kind of money unless you're Ovechkin or Kucherov or Pastrnak. See Marner. Oh wait he makes 11 mil.

Yeah I don't blame you. I just hadn't seen a debrincat trade from Detroit yet so I thought I would do one.

I'm surprised the Debrincat rumours are out there. Chicago would never get fair value back in any trade.

The hawks don't actually want to trade him. Those rumors are ridiculous. It'd take a package that you hate the second it goes through. Hawks have zero reason to trade a 24 year old top 5 goal scorer in the league. No matter what direction they decide to go this offseason debrincat is a huge part of their future.

All those teams who passed on drafting Debrincat because of his size. Dumb.

Why would you pay a 2nd to help Vegas with their cap issues?

DeBrincat is awesome but I'd hate to trade Vrana. If it's at least Mantha type return (Vrana, 1rst, 2nd) or a crazy hockey trade like Vrana for Tkachuck ( which will never happen) I believe Yzerman would consider it.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Vrana once he is healthy, especially next year with a full season to light up the score sheets.

Martinez is not a bad, Michigan born, player to target. With the current situation Vegas is in they would be the team adding and not Detroit. Basically he has 2 1/2 years left at 5.25 million, which Isn't very attractive for a 34 yr old D who is injured.
Also not sure on the term for Copp, thinking maybe 3 years if he's willing. All the other signings look great, especially the Mann deal. Good work.

I'd take this trade but Chicago wouldn't and I wouldn't add to it. Now Vrána had 8g in 11 games and Wallinder was really raw when drafted but he is progressing really nicely.

But it doesn't always work out like that. Debrincat is fearless.
