What this team needs is consistency in net and goal scoring

I still have hope for Blackwood, in the past two seasons (not including this one), he has stolen games for the Devils. He's a big reason why the Devils didn't finish dead last in the league. This year he has been very poor but a large part of that has to do with HE'S INJURED. He's not healthy but the Devils have to keep him in net since they have limited options. A tandem of Gillies and Schmid isn't gonna cut it. Wait till Blackwood is fully healthy and see how he plays. In the offseason, get a 1B backup like Fleury to help Blackwood.

Next is goal scoring wingers. Apart from Hughes and Bratt, this team can't score. Luckily Holtz is coming through from the AHL. But apart from that the team needs more scoring. Best option is to get a big free agent like Forsberg or Gaudreau or draft a goal scoring winger with a high pick.

Until then, use vet players like Tatar and Johnsson to develop younger players then trade them at the deadline for value.

Think smith and siegs need to stay. Siegs is on a crazy contract in a hood way. They’d have to be absolutely beyond blown away to move him
