Dustin Brown won't be traded unless he explicitly asks to be moved. If he does asked to be moved, it's not going to be to the Canadiens. He'll get to pick his destination and the Kings won't get back any more than future considerations. Sort of like when Iginla was moved from Colorado to LA before he retired.

LA has no interest in Gallagher unless Montreal retains half his salary. Even if they do, the Kings aren't giving up a 1st round pick for him.

Hey look, another MTL fan trolling Kings fans.

I wouldn't trade Brown for Gallagher 1-for-1, much less add in a 1st round pick. Brown's contract ends this season, and we don't want an aging player on a long contract into the mid-late 30's to replace what has been an ... aging player on a long contract into the mid-late 30's.

Petry wouldn't crack NSH's top four anymore. He'd be their oldest player, and worst contract. The 1st+ is heading the wrong way.

The usual Hab trades. Trading unwanted high cap players for firsts and no cap coming back.

Not one of these trades is realistic, with the possible exception of the Chiarot one, and I doubt that Florida would trade away its second first-round draft pick in a row. The Panthers are a team reaching towards the top and they probably want to stay there.

1. Unless the Flames lose their minds and decide they want Duncan Keith, he will remain an Oiler until his current contract ends. There seems to be no way he waives his no movement clause in order to be traded to Montreal.
2. Dylan Holloway is not going to be traded, the Oilers are way to high on him.
3. Mike Smith remains under contract next season and Stuart Skinner will not be waiver exempt in 2022-23.

Holland has painted himself into a corner and can only consider goaltenders with expiring contracts. At this point, Edmonton fans should forget about acquiring a top-tier goaltender and hope Holland can work a reasonable deal for a guy like Halak.

What do you mean, no cap coming back. I included guys like Lucic, Brown, Keith, etc. in almost every trade... NAS has enough cap space for Petry and BOS can easily afford the 3,5m Hoffman would cost...

That was an entertaining ACGM.
People will gripe about whether the trades were realistic or not. Shouldn't matter. Allow the suspension of disbelief.
We got a whole story here, draft details and everything. I'd read it again.
Well done.

Thanks for proving my point. Some players have NTCs...they aren't waiving. You've given too many teams bad cap long term and expecting a first in return for that . Doesn't really matter if teams can easily afford the players you suggest. They just spend the money better....the exact reason you are trading those players

Im trading those players because this team needs to rebuild… You dont keep guys over 28 if you expect to finish last for the next 2-3 years.

So what if YOUR team needs to rebuild. Other teams aren't giving up top picks for iffy or even bad long term contracts. Gee, you can't even give some of those players away as other teams have to manage their cap.

The fact you're receiving a first rounder in EVERY single trade here tells all about how realistic this is.

Edmonton isn't going to trade Holloway. Not even if Price comes back and plays well it is too much risk on an old injury prone tender.

If all those guys were worth that much in trade value MTL wouldn’t be as bad as they are. I mean Mike Hoffman and a pending NCAA FA for a 1st?🤦🏻‍♂️
