As I see it, this should be used in the same way the KK offer sheet was used. Target a team that will be severely cap strapped, pay the player more than they are worth, and give the other team a very tough decision on whether to screw their cap situation further or just cut their losses. The only problem I have with these offer sheets, is the term. If you make the offer sheet for one year, if an extension can be agreed on, the player can be resigned at a lower cap hit as soon as the off season. Nashville has the cap space to overpay a couple players for a year, and then resign them at a lower cap hit the next year. Even if this were to happen, Nashville still has 8 mil in cap space, which can be used to add at the deadline.
