Description
A big trade with Buffalo is the only one here. Shakes us up on D and adds a good player to that fourth line, along with making us deeper in case of injury with Hagg (I think he clears waivers?). Liljegren steps in for either Miller or Pysyk in around half the games, and the cost is worth it IMO.
Transactions
TOR
  1. Girgensons, Zemgus (1 100 000 $ retained)
  2. Hägg, Robert
  3. Miller, Colin (1 937 500 $ retained)

Détails additionnels:
Two solid underrated defensemen Buffalo doesn't need and Hagg and Zengus for some good depth.
BUF
  1. Dermott, Travis
  2. Holl, Justin

Add a mid-round pick I guess? Toronto will find another defenseman before they pay a 2nd to get Miller and dump Ritchie and Holl.

Then you aren’t gonna get these players from Buffalo
It’s been reported that there’s so much interest in Miller that the Sabres are asking for a 1st
I don’t necessarily think they’ll get that, but a 2nd + seems likely at this point

Then you’ve gotta add value for Girgs AND Pysyk,
and a little something for Hagg

Then you’ve gotta add value for taking your Cap dumps,
and not a mid-round pick…. actual value

Something seems wrong with wanting players off buffalo for a playoff run tears of joy
I just think this trade is too messy. Trim in down to miller for holl and maybe another player each way

Depth on Sabres? Gee, the three guys are starters on the Leafs.

Yeah and why would we play dermott over two first overall LHD players or samuelsson who has looked excellent? Ritchie is not a starter he was in fact waived so if the sabres wanted him they could have had for free. Holl is useless for the sabres and 99% of leafs agms trade him because hes a bottom pair defencemen. Miller may be bottom pair as well but his contract is up this year so why not instead retain and get a pick for him instead of helping the leafs cap situation by taking on their **** contracts

What does it matter what they write if the Evolving-Hockey metrics show that Miller is better than Holl this season. Don't act like you're not the same fan of the site on the internet.

I don't trust evolving hockey, it way too often shows middling players as amazing despite a lack of results.

Well I know Ritchie is a cap dump. Dermot plays both sides. C'mon all is Holl far from useless. 20 minutes a night, plays the hard minutes including the PK on a good team. Engvall, Holl and Dermot would be an upgrade for the Sabres. The only likeable for the Leafs is dumping Ritchie. Leafs get worse from the trade.

Fine, take Dermott & Pysyk off, swap Girgensons for Bjork? Hagg is going for draft picks in this case.

Buffalo should make this trade.
Do not listen to the other Sabre fans. They all think adding Barrie would be a bad move.
You may want different comparisons but if one were to ignore salaries Buffalo is the Huge winner in this trade!
Pysyk, Mark =< Ritchie, Nick considering the salary difference
Hägg, Robert > Dermott, Travis +2023 6th round pick (TOR)
Miller, Colin ($1,937,500 retained) >= 2023 3rd round pick (TOR)
Girgensons, Zemgus ($1,100,000 retained) (swap Bjork for Girgensons) << Holl, Justin
Holl would be paired with Dahlin.
DO NOT LISTEN TO SABRE FANS

The Leafs defense is the weakest part of their team versus the Sabres defense being the deepest section of the prospect pool. The biggest thing to remember is although they might be equivalent talents right now, giving prospects playing time is important for their growth, so crowding them out with mediocre vets actively holds back their development. Look at Detroit and Ottawa as examples, they still aren't necessarily playoff teams but they have young talent playing important minutes and are getting better.
