Yeah I could see Minny be big buyers but can’t see them trading Rossi or Boldy. It would probably be a Beckman that’s traded

Welcome to CapFriendly! Wild decline, since we need Boldy a lot more than we ever could need Brown or the other guy. Boldy is also the best player in the trade, so I see no reason to include Greenway as well.

To be fair, Brown probably get a 1st and a prospect at this deadline and Paul probably gets a 2nd himself. Its not like theyre throwaways, both are valuable. But i agree that Boldy is likely a non starter for any deal Minny does.

It's not that Boldy is "likely" a non-starter for any deal, it's that he's flat out unavailable in any deal with 100% certainty.

12 months ago he was a major disappointment/borderline bust that couldn’t score at the NCAA level. If there’s a deal for an elite player in place I don’t see a reason why he wouldn’t be included.

I don't know who you were talking to but he was never a major disappointment or borderline bust to anybody with more than a single brain cell. And that's still not relevant to the fact that he's now a 20 year old top six winger with massive potential.

He's 100% not available for anyone that's on the trade block right now. Miller, Grioux, Hertl, it doesn't matter. None of them are returning Boldy.

Lets not pretend there weren’t doubts in his d+1 season. He was underwhelming the first 3/4 of the year.

Saying that there’s is not a single player the wild would be willing to move Boldy for is short sighted. He was ranked 30th on Pronman’s U23 list above Guenther and below Farabee in the “projected top of the lineup” category…. not elite, not all star. Hard to believe that’s an untouchable player.

Okay buddy, call me when Nathan MacKinnon is on the block and we can talk about Boldy. Until then you're just being intentionally obtuse to prove a point. Obviously Boldy would be traded for a top of the line elite center, but that's not what this discussion is about. I don't really give a **** that you just read headlines, stat lines, and Pronman's (of all people) rankings. That's all completely meaningless as it pertains to the discussion we're having. What Boldy used to be, or even worse, what you just think he used to be, has no bearing on what he is or his value right now.

BC played a young natural winger out of position the majority of his freshman year. At center, which he most definitely is not and didn't belong there. Instead, Newhook played on Boldy's wing while he played center. His offensive is going to drop when saddled with being the defensive crux of that line. Newhook ended up being the beneficiary of that by scoring all of Boldy's passes.

At the 3/4 mark as you so eloquently pointed out, when they realized it wasn't working, they moved him back to wing and Newhook to center. He exploded, and showed he belonged there from the start. Despite that, he continued to feed Newhook quite a bit, as that had been their M.O. together for so long and was part of their dynamic as linemates, roommates, and best friends.

He was never a bust. Get a clue.

I'm glad you were able to move the goalposts far enough from the original discussion to feel satisfied with your performance.

I said "lets not pretend there werent doubts" and that "the first 3/4 of the year was underwhelming" then you went on to explain exactly why both of those statements were true....? You did me the service of proving my point but for some reason I need a clue?

Never said he was a bust. Get some glasses.

What are you even on about. I commented on the post saying that Boldy is likely a non-starter on any deal for Minny. YOU replied and said hes 100% unavailable in any situation. Which we just established wasnt true. The goalposts never moved, you just needed to take your blinders off to see the full scope of the conversation.

Again, enjoy your night.
