If Parayko was ever actually available, I'd think the Oilers would be all over bringing this local guy back home. Big, physical, can skate - yea he's been bad this year but type of player EDM would be all over. Outside of Bouchard, we really don't have any long term answers on RHD.

I mean Zub has been incredible ever since he’s come to Ottawa. Can play on any of the top 2 pairings next to an offensive Dman . He stabilizes a pair defensively

Zub is great, I have no confidence in ottawas pro scoutings ability to evaluate defenseman though

We are fine on D as is. Chabot, Sanderson, Kleven, Brannstrom, JBD, Zub, Thomson, Guenette.

I can’t watch Parayko play hockey no more man, it’s taking years away from my life.

I was unable to catch tonight's game, or any highlights yet. I did see the score just now, so I my skip it altogether. At least we know they'll come out angry in Winnipeg.

Not to be dramatic, but I don’t think I can remember a worse Blues game since I’ve been a fan. Worse than 8-0 against Colorado last year. Effort was another kind of bad. Crazy because the blues haven’t had a bad game yet this year until tonight. Johnny made 55 his son.

Knee jerk or cool heads, I’m not sure Ottawa considers moving its future top4 RD of the future and a pick to ‘upgrade’ from Zub to 8 years of Parayko.

Caught chunks of the game and it was bad realistically there’s a better chance of it being a one off. Worst case scenario… 8 years is a long time but 6.5m per could be worse haha

Zub suits Ottawa's need pretty well perfectly. Wouldn't be trading him.

When they gave him 8 more years, I figured that the back issues were in the past. I might have given them too much credit. He looks bad most nights, nothing like he used to be. He doesn't establish a tight gap, he doesn't skate the puck out of trouble, he doesn't find the tape, he doesn't really do much of anything but bleed chances and rim it off the glass. It's sad knowing how effective he can be. Hopefully he figures it out, it's going to be a long time until 2030...

He really was. He was the closest thing that I've seen to Pronger when it comes to 1v1 defending or battling for a puck down low - not nearly as mean but you just knew he'd come away with the puck and get an exit. This season he's a liability: getting 45% of the chances w him on the ice and a -19 5v5 goal diff.
