Has Kapanen been struggling? I’m trying to wrap my head around the fact that his numbers are worse than Brown’s (completely ignoring the 2nd Ottawa is adding here).

Hes honestly been fine. His numbers are a tad worse but remember Malkin was out for how long so he was playing with Rodrigues and Carter who yes are good but are not Malkin. Crosby also being out here and there also factors in.

Brown slightly better scoring but much better 2-way game and PK.

Connor Brown is 2nd NHL forward in SH TOI/GP since 2019-20. Kapanen doesn't PK


Brown is only 2.5 years older than Kapanen, Sens need to improve their team defense. This trade wouldn't be productive at all for Ottawa
