There's no way EDM is doing this. #1 Price is out for the year. #2 We can't afford him next year, #3 What if he's not a 7M goalie next year, #4 Chiarot is not worth a first round prospect

If the habs took more then .5 seconds to accept that edmonton trade then they should no longer be allowed in the nhl. lol
Thats a ridiculous return even with retaining that much cap,

Also that calgary trade would be an insane return and in what world is Lecky worth more than a second? its fine if your thought is they reject it because he is a piece they want to keep but thats about bang on as to what his value is.

Fine, the calgary return is fine but we could get better, in analytics lehky would be 7th in selke voting, and he is having his best season in his nhl career, the price would be kravtsov and a 3rd,
Sorry but that edmonton trade absolutely SUCKS, another 1st and someone like konovalov and savoie, I'm sorry but price is worth WAY more than that

You are not a Habs fan, I am. You haven't watched Habs hockey since 2007, I have. You haven't watched Habs playoff hockey in 2020 and 2021, I have. You haven't met carey personally, I have. Who would you trust better

based on what? chiarot at best will land a 1st, price retain for 5mil per maybe gets you at first at best, i dont know where this crazy logic is coming from that a team is going to take on that contract and pay you for the privilege. Price is restarting is rehab the uncertainty right now is wayyy too high to expect anything more than that.

First of all: Why assume things you have no knowledge on? Your comment makes you seem pretty arrogant.

I watched all Habs playoff games in 2020 and 2021 except 3.

Okay, let's say you met him: does that change how "valid" your take is? No, it doesn't. Price has been one of my favorite players since his D+1 year, but I nevertheless try to stay objective when talking about him.

Price has a $10.5M deal until 2026 with a NMC. That contract is close to untradeable (if it's not someone like Vasy) without considerable retention. And $1M is not that. Additionally, he hasn't been good in 3 of the last 4 regular seasons. And he's 34 years old and likely won't play this season.

His tea, has been atrocious the past 3 years so I don't know what you are talking about, in the playoffs they are a totally different team

Chiarot will land at least a 1st and 3rd, price is not just returning a 1st. He gets a 1st, a former 1st round pick that worthy of that selection (ex. Bourgault), a B goalie prospect ( konovalov)
And a 2nd or a B forward/defense prospect. So in this package of chiarot and price and I would add a 3rd, the Habs should get: Broberg, 1st, bourgault, konovalov, Lavoie. That's the price

they would never get close to that. If that was the fair market value for price seattle wouldve just selected him in the draft and moved him. The fact they didn't even want to touch that should tell you all you need to know.

I love price he's been responsible for pretty much everything positive that the habs have done i n the last 10+ years. but his contract, age and injury history is something every team will take into account. He had a great playoff one and showed that he still has some elite play left in him, but he also showed he cant take on a heavy load during the season which mean any team landing him will still want a decent backup on top of that. Most competitive teams could never have 14mil in goalies like the habs did last year because they have legit star forwards to pay which we've never had to deal with.

At best price may have another year or two left in him where he could perform while enough to be worth close to a 7mil cap hit for someone, but your perceived value that he would bring in a trade is way off in my book. Also Chiarot only gets a 1st if there not many LD available, Giordano gonna be the most sought after, i think habs will be extremely happy if they can pull a 1st out of a chiarot trade.

Goalie's on worse teams have been better than him. All stats say he hasn't been good (irrespective of the Habs in general). The Habs weren't "atrocious" in 19/20 and 20/21. They were pretty bad in 17/18. But Price wasn't bad just because of the team in front of him. He himself wasn't good either which stats like his -0.618 GSAx/60 show.

1st Trade - Edmonton should have 0 interested in trading for Price. His age + injuries are very concerning. Montreal accepts this all day long

2nd Trade - Toffoli's actual value. Montreal accepts

3rd Trade - Lehkonen's value. Montreal accepts.
