That’s a mistake to the avs to make that trade. Olofsson Is ok but he’s ab offensive volume shooter who is sub par defensively, as a pending rfa, not worth it

If avs are moving a 1st kaut and a decent roster player they can target someone else that is more well rounded and isn’t 1 year out to ufa. Olofsson Is too risky to give term and buy up his ufa years to extend

A trade offer by AVS fan and you don't know much about Olofsson. He's not a one-dimensional PP shooter, he was in his first season. He has definitely improved at ES and defense, he can also be a good playmaker. Olofsson is an RFA and AVS could probably extend him for 4-5 years at a very reasonable price.

I’m aware who made the trade, and I am fully Aware of the type of player Olofsson is, which is why I made those comments

He isn’t worth it, avs should look at something else bc it would be a mistake

Olofsson is playing much better this year 5v5

if he keeps it up over 82 games and now is a completely changed player and not just a small sample size of improved play, a 1st kaut and. decent player is an overpayment for him. Its just not worth the assets to give up on.

Colorado already has an Olofsson-type in Burakovsky. If they are going to make a meaningful addition at forward during the season, I’m not sure he’s the right fit. Maybe a guy they look at in the offseason if he’s still available and Burakovsky goes to UFA.

He improved his game last season, let's say you think that this is an overpayment, how do you see a fair offer for Olofsson?

a 2nd and a prospect, hes not a unique or special player that warrants a 1st + +. He is a pure winger as well, hes not goign to get a massive return when players like him are on the market all the time.
kubalik, Debrusk, Hagel, just to name a few are all on the market, not everyone of them are getting 1st round picks. They are all that similar middle 6 winger.

Olofsson, if anything, plays well both RW and LW, you could keep both if the cap allows.

Well, I don't agree, what do you think Toffoli will get? Olofsson has very decent stats in the NHL to get at least 1st, plus he's RFA and plus he's improved over the last two seasons.

the price that is shown in this trade, you can get Toffoli for that and he is a better player than Olofsson. Just he is not worth giving up a 1st with, he has arb rights and has gotten fat off of being a PP specialist in his career. Want nothing to do with that contract going fwd bc its going to be bloated

Well, I still don't agree, you ignore that he is not only a PP specialist, but also a decent player at ES. They have similar numbers to Toffoli for the last three seasons.

What price would you be willing to pay? 1st we would definitely look for in a deal or 2nd + decent prospect maybe. And we may not need Compher at all.

You said it right there “decent player at ES”. Decent ES players don’t get a 1st, an NHL ready forward on his ELC, and a middle 6 forward that can play all 3 forward spots. Honestly think about it this way is Olofoson really a 1st rd pick and Kaut better than Compfer? He isn’t. Also why would COL want or need him? For more scoring they are already tops in the league. Is he going to supplant anybody in the top 6, no not really, so COL is paying that for a 3rd line guy, yikes. I actually think Olofoson is pretty good and BUF should keep him, but in COL he isn’t worth a fair price because in addition to his trade price he needs a new contract and COL already has to many guys to give extensions to.

He was a 1st rd pick 2018. 2 seasons ago at the end of the season he had carved out a role on the Avs, but before his 10th game played COL intentionally sent him down to slide his ELC. He’s NHL ready now, his floor is a solid 2 way bottom 6 guy. Imo he has a good/bad trait in that he plays to the skill level of his linemates. He just needs a chance to play and there aren’t a lot of chances in COL. He’s a good get imo with another season on his ELC.

I thought Compher was a cap dump Confused , last season it seems like it was and the AVS fans were ready to get rid of him. While I don't know much about Kaut, it definitely doesn't seem like your best prospect, or even your second best prospect. I have no idea why you need Olofsson, but if your fan posted this, it must be for some reason.

Every fan base has a guy they hate, Avs fans have an irrational hate for players. Compher had an atrocious year exacerbated by not being healthy last year, but this year he’s scoring at a 40pt pace, has played up and down and around the line up. I think he drives Avs crazy because In a 10 game stretch he is spectacular a couple of games, ok a couple of games invisible 2 games, good 2 games, and head scratching in 2 games. Imo Kaut is the Avs 3rd or 4th best prospect with Barron and Olausson being the top 2.

Avs trade isn't bad but then I like Olofsson more than other Avs fans it seems. It's maybe a little excessive though.

Compher is not necessary if he needs AVS. I think it would even be possible to replace Kaut with some other prospect, but I don't know much about your prospects and probably guys like Olauson and Barron wouldn't even be on the table.
