ANA
  1. Chiarot, Ben
Détails additionnels:
Let’s be real someone will overpay for Chiarot… A first + an extra asset (prospect or later pick) will likely be the return.
2.
MTL
  1. Choix de 2e ronde en 2022 (ARI)
ARI
  1. Lehkonen, Artturi
Détails additionnels:
He’s low key been our most effective player this year, he will fetch a good return from a GM in the know

  1. Kulak, Brett
Détails additionnels:
Anything from a late 3rd to a 4th is likely, he’s pretty underrated

Détails additionnels:
Don’t see why Hoffman would want to stick around a rebuild, but alternatively I could also see Drouin/Toffoli be moved. As long as one of them gets moved it’s fine.

Like I said in the description, teams don’t matter. Hoffman doesn’t fit Calgary at all, especially with their almost decade-long RHW problem. I just wanted to show examples of realistic returns the Habs could get at the deadline using picks as a metric. Just chose teams in alphabetical order to quickly do this. I don’t even think Hoffman is worth a second, but his perceived value is high enough to easily get that off some dumb desperate GM In need for scoring.

Whats your ask on Toffoli, I think Calgary would have a lot of interest in him

What I think he’s worth and what I value him at are different. I think a lot of Habs fans overrate him. However, I think it’s safe to say that, despite the team being horrendous, he’s still been pretty productive and one of our better players, as he’s maintaining a near 60 point pace atm. He’s still a great winger on a near-steal of a contract.

I think he easily fetches a first+, especially considering he had a monster year last year and that he hasn’t fallen off that hard *on paper at least*. I don’t think I’d trade much more than a first for him if I were CGY, but I think he’d be a good fit. a first and another asset makes sense for both sides probably.

Nobody is going to wildly overpay for Chiarot. There are too many better and/or cheaper options on the market this year.

That’s the price to pay for an under 30 years old sniper who’s on a bargain deal for 2 more years and a half… Multiples teams are gonna be ready to pay that price ( first rounder and a good prospect) for Toffoli especially at the deadline

Someone will definitely pay a 1st+ for Chiarot. After Klingberg, Chiarot is the best openly available UFA. What he did in last years playoffs will not go unnoticed.

I think this is realistic for all of these players, although I don't see Montreal trading Hoffman for that package. Might as well keep him and see what he can do in an offensive system.

1- Maybe, but it ain't gonna be a fairly high 1st and a fairly high 2nd. That's just wacky.

2- Heh. Don't agree, and he's definitely far from the cheapest.

Yeah, I didn't really pay attention to the team, I think the team that pays that for Chiarot is going to be a team that's top 5 in the league. (Florida, Toronto, Tampa ETC).

He's definitely not going to be the cheapest, but I think he will be among the best. He's a guy who will push you over the top, can play anywhere in the top 6 and can shutdown any line.

Zary and a 2nd. Depends if there are better offers though. Personally wouldn't trade him right now. He'll be the same value next year, so no need to rush.

Bruh... I understand he had a nice playoffs last year, and that's great, but he has not been shutting down shiz this season. He's been hooooorrible. He has the 6th worst expected +/- in the whole league (forwards and defenseman) and has been an own zone turnover nightmare.

None of these are blue chips prospects… A similar trade could be the Pacioretty one… since none of these prospects are Suzuki type good the second rounder and the contract dump could become a first rounder
The only deal I’d accept as Montreal is:
Toffoli-3rd round pick for Zary/Coronato/Pelletier,Lucic (no retention) and a 2022/2023 first round pick

Pelletier and a second would make it done but at this point I’d id keep Toffoli the trade i wrote earlier is a trade that a team might overpay at the TDL

I think Habs fans wanting Pelletier need to widen their view. He's francophone and producing well in the minors, but he's also 5'9. In a bubble, that's fine.
When your roster already includes Caufield and Gallagher for the foreseeable future, and you already have a number of undersized forwards in your system, you have to consider that smaller players' production typically translates at a lower rate at the NHL level, and a quarter of your roster (or more) will be smaller players.
That's going to limit line options and hold a bigger risk beyond simply production concerns.

For me, Pelletier is not a desirable target. He may be okay on another team, but Montreal has tended to use too many smaller players and I'd like to see us move away from that.
