Oilers wont be doing that.. they are not interested in moving their 1st and dont even want to move the 2nd or 3rd.. other trades seem fine in terms of value.. late picks for those guys.

If you wanna get a top 10 pick, keeping the bad players is probably a better option

How about we bench Chara, Bailey,Martin, Czanrik, actually play Wahlstrom and see how it goes.

Trotz scratching Wahlstrom is worse than anything Capuano/Weight ever did. He's already the isles best winger and he gets treated like he's a replaceable depth forward.

Agreed, You can bench a player for a period and it will have the same effect. You can't keep shooting yourself in the foot this season, it's maddening

I’ll take wahlstrom, Hickey, and Johnston now that his suspension is over.

At least when wahlstrom makes a mistake he is playing hard. I cannot take the passive soft play from Bailey and Nelson anymore, they both have to go. How many more stupid drop passes in the blue line does Trotz need to see to bench the overpaid veterans who are not good.

That’s a tough one, I would hope Trotz would make better roster decisions.

Wahlstrom produces at the rate of an above average 2nd line winger, he's good defensively and he's elite on the PP. I don't even think Wahlstrom deserved to get benched against Arizona. His turnover was bad, but he made up for it by going all out and blocking the two shots with his body.

This is worse than the Nino situation because Nino was put in a position to fail and he couldn't produce. Wahlstrom has been put in a position to fail and the kid just always finds a way to put up points, He could have 5 min of ice time and he'll still have 1 point and 5 SOG. Wahlstrom is never rewarded for playing well but he's always punished for making a mistake.

He’s lost it completely. Trotz is a coward dinosaur that should be fired.

Hire Chris MacFarland and let Lou step down, fire Trotz, my ideal scenario would be Mike Sullivan, but not realistic. I would be fine with Lane Lambert. Cash in on Varlamov and Mayfield, sell Clutterbuck, Bailey (most likely bought out or cap dumped), Parise, Greene and Chára (if possible) at the TDL.

Draft a player with high upside like Brad Lambert, or a Ivan Miroshnichenko, they should be available at 10-ish…

Try to trade for a player like Fiala, Kubalík would be nice too. Sign an ok LD UFA on 1-2 years. Sign a goalie like Holtby, Greiss or something on 1-2 years.

Most essential thing is setting up these guys; Barzal, Beauvillier, Räty, Wahlstrom, Dobson, Salo, Bellows, Sorokin, (Holmström, Bolduc) to succeed and retool on the fly.

This is exactly what I would do. Trotz being fired should be the 1st priority.

Yeah, we should try to convince Ledecky of this plan lol. Only UFA exception for me would be Johnny Gaudreau, he’s the type of player you could live with being a potential bad contract in his 35+ imo. People don’t get exactly how good he truly is, in my sense… unlikely he would pick us if he even goes to the market.

I agree, Gaudreau is the one winger I want to sign. Forsberg is going to fall off a cliff in a few years.

Yeah that’s what I (sadly) believe too. Love Forsberg, but I can imagine him being injury prone (already is) and will loose his speed etc… didn’t think Burakovsky’s 27 years old, I just refreshed my mind about the upcoming UFAs…

Haha yeah it’s always been his thing. It was a career saver for Burakovsky being traded to Colorado. I’m getting pissed off just thinking about how bad Trotz is with younger guys and everything else this season. ”accountability” 😂
