I doubt it, we are only trading Chiarot because we have too many LHD and his contract is expiring. If his contract wasn't expiring we wouldn't be trading him and even if we did it wouldn't be for yet another LHD.

as the 7th to 8th dman? He is added depth, experience, size. He won't be in our lineup unless injuries or we are getting exposed by a team in the playoffs as being too small on the backend. Having a guy like that in the locker room, for the playoffs, would be worth the 3rd rounder on his own.

That's of course why he is traded... You are getting a first rounder here. Dermott is for cap reasons. Plus you get a young dmen for next year who can play the left or the right. I understand Montreal has a lot of young defensive depth already. So they can either trade him or trade another guy. Getting Dermott in this package has zero negatives for Montreal. But the main thing is they get the 1st rounder.

Vancouver still says no. The 1st isn't for another year, Ritchie is a cap dump, Robertson and Niemela aren't very exciting prospects. Nothing in your proposal helps Vancouver.

MTL still has no reason to give up a 3rd. Your logic for Dermott is that he's only in it for the cap right?? but then you added a pick to come back for him so I don't know what logic you're using anymore to have Dermott in the trade.

MTL will not give up anything to acquire another 7th Dman, they might take him for cap but they would only be sending Chiarot w/retained

Hes not younh he is 25 already. He is a negative calue asset as he is a 7th dman making over a million dollars.

Move Dermott somewhere else or add an incentive for Montreal to take a useless peice then. We will get a 1st without taking back Dermott

It was reported Hughes is going to take the highest offer for Chiarot and it doesn't matter who it is (including Toronto)

Well duh but this doesn't beat the 1st + 3rd or 1st + Noel that most Panthers fans are offering. Dermott is not needed so basically this offer is a 1st + cap dump

If the Panthers are offering that, than accept it. I'm just stating what was reported.

Habs are clearly in a rebuild so why not trade Chiarot for a younger LHD and a 1st. I think this trade benefits the habs

Because we already have Edmundson and Romanov who are better and Kulak, Niku and Clague are about the same level and Guhle, Norlinder, Struble and Harris who could all turn out better. The LAST thing we need to add is another 7th Dan that will be buried in the AHL in 1-3 years or claimed off waivers
