From the past 2 years observing Holland, Campbell will be the last goalie he targets. As we have seen he either does not want to pay big for a goalie (Kuemper) or give a goalie a big contract (Markstrom). Like if he was willing to pay a goalie Ullmark or Mrazek would have been an Oiler.
Knowing him he will sign Holtby or trade for someone from his Detroit days (Mrazek).
And realistically Campbell rn aint worth 6mill based on current comparable's making more or less than him rn.
If we look at Markstrom he had to play 50 games a season and take the Canucks to round 2 (Play-in is not a round) to get that contract.
Campbell had never played more than 31 and with his injury riddled past giving him 6 without post-season success is not in the minds of most GMs.
Realistically what he can ask for is what Lehner, Ullmark, Saros, or Demko got 5mill x 4-5 years. Now there are chances of an overpay but unless he has more post season success dont think its likely.
