That's...surprisingly low, all things considered. I was sure I'm going to see the likes of Newhook or maybe even Byram involved, even though those would get declined most likely.

haha I'm definitely not that crazy. Plus Barron should hopefully end up filling their biggest need

You really think so? Neither Barron or Olausson have had their stock fall since being drafted, so essentially two firsts and a second. Plus Vancouver gets the benefit of seeing the two firsts perform after their draft year. Doesn't seem low to me, although I'm sure the Canucks would try for lower retention.

I mean I've seen a lot worse Miller trades. It's surprising to see somewhat reasonable return for a change, although I wouldn't be too surprised if he brought even more. Miller at the moment is a very desirable asset especially if retained - a lot of contenders are cap strapped and most likely willing to pay huge to get a certain top-6 asset for 1,5 years potentially at $1,3M if there's a double retention in the plans.

Fair take. I think it's a pretty decent offer, but who knows what a guy like that will get if they retain. The fact it's for two runs is a big deal.

Can't see the Avs trading their top F&D prospects outside of the NHL in one trade unless it's for someone a lot bigger than Miller. That's not saying he's not a good player. Just trading those kind of assets isn't going to happen.

What else would need to be included in a Miller - Byram trade?

I'd say this trade is awful!! Retaining salary on two prospects and low 2nd round pick. lol
Maybe keep your comments a little more detailed in what makes a trade Awful!
