This team is disgusting. Love to see this team iced.

Brings up an interesting dilemma: do you always take an 8 yr offer for the security or do you take yourself to FA to ensure that you are part of a franchise that can competently reach their goals? I'm sure McDavid and Drai were always treated well and it was a no-brainer to take the long deals and become franchise players, but I wonder if they might start to loathe the fact that they have 5 and 4 years remaining with mgmt still spinning their wheels. All the while, they're starting to catch more heat from the media despite playing at MVP level. Do they need to be loyal to the Oilers? It isn't like they gave them a chance when no other team would or anything like that; they just happened to have draft picks in the right spots. Of course, this whole thing could just be PDO-driven and a complete overreaction, but IMO there are still glaring needs on their roster and they screwed their chance to get things right this offseason when they had nearly 30m in cap space to work with.

McDavid and Drai deserve a team like the Blues when they won the cup. Obviously switch Schenn and ROR for both, but that was such a deep team. The oilers do not have a team team at any position

Yeah I'd be pretty frustrated if I was an Oilers fan. They might be immune to it by now tho lol. Chiarelli did some terrible things but last offseason they were finally at a turning point to get out of the woods. But then Holland spent his money on duds (and Hyman) and it's going to set them back yet again. Too much sitting on his hands and terrible pro player evaluation - look at some of the guys that have been traded recently for cheap: Buchnevich, Toews, Burakovsky, Stephenson, McCann, Dadonov, Nedeljkovic, Arvidsson, etc... all of them for the same or cheaper than Holland spent for a washed Duncan Keith or for a few games of Athanasiou before that... just awful. If Drai and McDavid start to show their frustration publicly it could turn into an even bigger mess.
