Sabres pass on Kral & Hirvonen,
they aren’t what we’re looking for

Keep them & add another pick

Miller sucks, Hinostroza isn't at all needed and I don't see Domi being worth the price it would take to get him. The only move I would make is if we can get a 2nd pair RD without taking anything away from the roster. Nothing else is needed.

Buffalo won't want your dead weight.
They've already said they want a 1st for Miller. (I think they'll get a 2nd)
And I would imagine they get more selling Hinostroza and Miller separate than together.
They have the prospects to give playing time too so they aren't gonna be bringing in more fringe NHLers to block them out.

To be honest it seems a little rich from Toronto's perspective. I'd rather do something like Holl+2nd for Miller (50% retained) and a 4th.

That might be in the ballpark
Depends if we like/want Holl

Supposedly, we are looking for a 1st for Miller
Idk that anyone is gonna pay that unless they get desperate,
but it does seem like whoever does get him will have to outbid a few other interested teams

I think there's a strong chance the leafs are the ones to get Miller because he's a former Soo Greyhound (lol), but I can't see them paying a first.

So if someone actually offers that, then good for the sabres I guess, but if they couldn't get a first for Taylor Hall, I have a hard time seeing them get a first for Colin Miller.

Miller might not get a 1st,
but not bc of your reasoning

We couldn’t get a 1st for Hall bc he had a full NTC,
and said he ONLY wanted to go to Boston

Also….
Where Miller goes will have nothing to do with where he played Juniors
It’ll depend on who offers the most for him, period

Fair enough on the first point.

As for the second point, that has nothing to do with Buffalo and everything to do with Toronto's potential interest in Miller, to be clear.

Toronto would be interested (or not interested) in Miller bc of his play this season & in recent seasons
And NOT where he played in Juniors TEN YEARS AGO

I don’t think that makes ANY difference at all

It's a bit of a joke but Dubas has shown he likes to have former Greyhounds on his team. Campbell, Ritchie, Sandin, Muzzin, Bunting, and Simmonds were all former Soo Greyhounds (and Keefe coached them). It does make a difference (though it might be slight). By the way, in case you were wondering, Dubas was the greyhounds GM.

Again, the Sabres won't want Holl. They only want picks for the players they are selling at this point.
Next year their d-corps will likely be Samuelsson-Dahlin, Power-Jokiharju, Bryson-Pysyk, and a 7th. Holl is not going to displace any of those 6 guys so he's a waste of an asset.

Was he the GM when Miller was there?
Bc if not, then i can’t see how that matters

For example:
Dubas isn’t gonna trade for Miler bc he was a Greyhound over say Josh Manson
It’s gonna come down to who he thinks is the best player,
and what the cost is to get them

Oh I agree, it’s not going to be a deal breaker, but I’m simply suggesting that it would be a possible reason why Dubas would call Buffalo about Miller. That’s all. Certainly not suggesting that would be the sole reason to get him.

But he has an extra year on his deal. That means he takes up a roster spot. Miller is a UFA at the end of the year.
Unless it's a 3way deal where Holl goes elsewhere I can't see the Sabres eating the negative value.

Nobody likes Buffalo. You need guys there to fill roster spots. If you hate him that much, he should cost little or nothing to dump. He's a decent bottom 4 defenseman. Last year he was a top 4 one.

They don't need people to fill roster spots... Samuelsson-Dahlin, Power-Jokiharju, Bryson-Pysyk. The 6 spots are filled with players better than him. And that's assuming no other prospects make the jump or anyone else is signed... To say nobody likes Buffalo is a flat-out lie... I agree he's a decent dman, I probably like him more than the average hockey fan, but he doesn't fit on Buffalo's growth pathway... It's not meant to offend you or shut you down, just to say that it needs to be modified.

No worries. No offense was taken. It's perfectly fine to civilly say that a certain player isn't wanted by a team. I respect that.
