That's not enough of an incentive for anyone to take Nick Ritchie.

Try again.

I like the Liljegren connection to NJ, but I think the Devils say, thanks, but no thanks

Geez. Next you'll be saying Severson is worth Nylander, a 1st and Liljegren. What a joke this is a slam dunk win for new jersey and a terrible move for TO. Guts their defensive depth for at best a small upgrade over Holl.

Oh, Leafland. Tell me again how Jeremy Bracco is worth Taylor Hall...

Out of curiosity.

How do Leaf fans rank their prospects?

Knies, Roberton, Abramov and Niemela

Because I don't think the Devils should have much interest in Roberton and Abramov just because they have so many similar guys on the team/in the pipeline, but they're often the ones offered in Severson trades. Is that just because Leafs fans aren't as big on them?

i'm not a Leafs fan, but I like to keep up with them bc of Steve Dangle and how disappointing they are. I'm high on Niemela, but low on Robertson. Although he's had injury problems, Robertson's production hasn't been that improving in 2 years. Knies looks to be pretty good tho, a potential steal

i think it is. Logically it may not makes tons of sense but I've seen GM's (like Dorion) make deals like this or worse than this. You may not like it, but it's definitely possible

He isn't and Severson isn't worth half of what you want him to be. If this is indeed the asking price he won't be moved. Because this is silly.

I would move Robertson in the right trade. I still think he could be something but I am not as high on him as I once was.

Ritchie could be a decent depth guy in the right system, but he certainly doesn't fit in TO. I bet someone needing some extra cap like Arizona and other low budget teams may have interest in him to help meet the floor.

It's never wise to ask how fans rank prospects. Most of the people on here see every prospect as future superstars.

Niemela certainly looks good as does Knies, I do think Robertson still could end up as a good player but I would trade him in the right deal.

How is the perfect deadline trade one that takes the team from having 7 NHL defenceman to 6 and also costs a lot of futures.

It's a multi-year cap dump and a 3rd round pick that can't be used until 2024.

You can't even point to any evidence showing Pierre Dorion or Eugene Melnyk having any interest in Nick Ritchie.

Try again.

I'm assuming you mean Amirov, not Abramov? I'd think the reason you see those guys more often offered in the trades is a combination of a couple things. One being that the depth at LW in the pipeline is quite strong so fans feel more willing to part with one of them. Knies is a left winger as well, but that brings me to my other point - recency bias; Niemela and Knies are the shiny new toys as they're both having tremendous seasons in their respective leagues, while Amirov and Robertson have been having some bumps in the road over the last while (due to circumstances beyond their control, mind you).

Honestly I dont mind the 3rd to take Ritchie but optically it would be a lot better if it wasnt for a draft 3 years from now.
