very easy yes to the MTL and CHI deals for the Oilers, meaning the other teams aren't going to like them. I would think both teams would prefer a quality over quantity trade.

Not overly into Risto. From what I hear, he is a lost cause. Barrie is cheaper and is just one year removed from leading dmen in points. I still see value in him (although lots of Oilers fans want him gone). I do see some benefit in Ristos physicality though, so definitely an interesting trade to discuss.

Easy no from Chicago. There is no value going back to Chicago besides a 5th round pick and why would Chicago move Flowers for a 5th round pick?

It's not a revelation that you need to limit Barrie's exposure. That's not really possible when Bouchard needs similar treatment (for now) and your left side consists of Koekoek and Keith.
Nurse is capable of pairing with one of the two, but ideally you don't want either playing his minutes. Bouchard should get there eventually, which leaves Barrie as the odd man out, unless you are going to spend assets and cap on another LD.

Simply put there isn't enough value to any of these teams other then Edmonton so they all decline.

Chiarot starts with a 1st +

Lehkonen starts with a 2nd + (rumours of a Kravtsov swap so that's what I'm going off of).

Montreal wouldn't trade Chiarot for that package alone, so they obviously wouldn't throw in Lehkonen on top of it.
