Description

If the Oilers fire Tippit and try to gain some solid depth pieces and spread the cap well this could be a very doable roster, that's provided Ottawa takes a Year Risk with Keith and part with White whom they don't seem to be happy with. This risk could pay out for Edmonton with getting a good PK piece and a good top 9 forward who could mesh well. Now Holloway if he could make the jump right away he could swap minutes with Derek Ryan and get some PP time, his speed and puck handling will work well with McDavid and Leon on PP1. Flower is obvious because he a good capable vet goalie who could help Skinner develop and get the Oilers over the hump and be a good voice in the room, and could help steer the ship when they face adversity.

I have to wonder why would Keith waive his NMC for this deal considering he wanted to go to EDM specifically because he wanted to be more near of his family. Yes OTT is in Canada which was a factor for Keith but EDM is much closer to competing and the distance from Ottawa to Edmonton is greater than it was from Chicago. Now I don't know where Keith's family specifically lives but I have to think he's only accept a move to a Western Canadian team.

Why would Ottawa do this? Contrary to popular belief, they NEED Colin White who solidifies the bottom-6, plus is Chabot's best friend and very appreciated by everybody. He is only overpaid by about 1.25, big deal for a team that barely reached the floor.
