Bobcat’s Post Game Notes, Game 38
Jackets lose 5-2 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
-We started kinda shaky. A goal pretty much within the first 30 seconds (it was 32 seconds if you want to be a pedantic ass about it) is kinda frustrating.
-Gustav Nyquist has had a silently solid season (try saying that 5 times fast) this year. Tonight helped that out a lot with a goal tonight, his 10th of the season.
-Aye-aye, Captain! Boone does what he usually does and gets the tip on a shot for his 16th goal of the year!
-It was very uneventful after the first period. But then we got to the third. And then the bullsh*t started.
-Michael Matheson takes a slapper that Korpi gets a piece of, and then just sits there. It trickles through his 5-hole and in while Gus (who was in good position to sweep it out of the crease) slowly coasts towards him. What a mess.
-Later in the period: Max does a good thing and scores, but IT ENDS UP BEING OFFSIDES BECAUSE OF COURSE IT F*CKING DOES.
-A couple minutes after: Alex Texier flips the puck over the glass, seemingly on accident. Easy enough, just get another puck, play goes on, right? WRONG! Sidney Crosby complains juuuuust hard enough to make the ref do as he says. Tex is off for delay of game. That leads to a goal (scored by GUESS F*CKING WHO) and then I shut the radio broadcast off. I know I missed an empty netter, but I just don’t care about it.
-This game was a lot more mellow than I really thought it was going to be. Since we’re rivals and all, I thought we’d have more shoving after whistles, and maybe a legitimate fight that lasts longer than 10 seconds. Maybe a punch would be thrown! What a foreign concept!
