WAR Models have always been bullish on 1st pairing defensemen on crappy teams. Chychrun is also among the worst this season. Does that make the GM who trades a 1st+ for him foolish as well? Chiarot is not a 1st pairing defenseman but has been deployed like one. He's actually decent on a second pairing, provides intangibles & plays a playoffs-style hockey that actually wins you rounds.


Yep, Chiarot may look like a black hole but he really isn't, if he's played on the 2nd pair with the right partner, that can be a god pairing

To the Kent Hughes news, Gorton is our VP of Hockey Ops and higher on the chart so he most likely has the final say on moves while Hughes gets to learn how to be a GM under a good tutor

ehh, I disagree with it but this just means that teams won't care about testing until they need to cross the border ( US into Canada obvs ) and then they'll get hit by a brick and have no roster

That’s why I was confused about it. I think it’s a bad idea because players can lie about if there feeling well or not then they won’t have to get tested. I don’t know.

You could also have made the argument to swap Keller and Terry then Vejmelka and Gibson
