Not enough for Matthews. He's a top 3 player, you just don't trade that.

It makes 0 sense for either sides. Well actually makes a bit of sense form TOR side, but 0 from the jets side. Just a dumb idea altogether. Only chance Toronto is moving matthews is if he isn’t resigning and is a pending UFA.

It makes the Jets significantly better. They get the best player in the trade. Schiefele is a good player no doubt but he's not on Matthews level. Perfetti I think will be a good player as well but not on Matthews level. The single best goal scorer in hockey and a two way monster who is 24 is as valuable as anything not named McDavid.

It makes some sense for Toronto, but no sense for Winnipeg and with Matthews' contract, there's no chance he returns that much in a trade.

If Matthews was traded, this would be the type of return Toronto could expect.

But he won't be traded and Toronto would be stupid to trade him

The value is pretty spot on. If you ask people that aren’t apart of either fanbase that’s likely the answer you’ll get. Downgrading from matthews to scheifele, but Copp and Perfetti close that gap very quickly, not to mention the 1st. It just makes 0 sense from both sides though.

Their numbers are close to comparable, so significantly better is a stretch.
Matthews is over rated by Leafs fans, is no where near McDavid value, and is no where near the best goal scorer in hockey….plus he’s over payed

Sure he’s overrated by leafs fans but he’s still a top 5 player in the league and one of the top goal scorers snd Schiefele just isn’t even near that level. Calling them comparable is overrating schiefele
