That would be a pass from Detroit. They are all set when it comes to RHDs but they need LHDs. Plus 10yr age gap Barrie doesn't really fit into Detroit's time line.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. There is NO trade that involves McDavid that is a win-win. It's just not possible. He is the single best player in the universe and will be easily one of the 3 best of all time when all is said and done. To give the amount of assets it would take for ANY team to get him, would not be worth it, because they would be left with nothing around him and an empty cupboard, while conversely, the Oilers would have just, well... TRADED THE BEST PLAYER IN THE FREAKING UNIVERSE.

Nailed it. The only way he ever gets moved is if he sits out till hes traded and then oilers get pennies on the dollar if theyre lucky. Since thats not going to happen he isnt going anywhere.

This. If he ever gets traded, it's because Edmonton has their hands tied and NEED to trade him. They'll get a good return, but it won't be anything like the Rangers trade above. Exhibit A: Eichel, Jack
