Don't see Price or Kane waiving their NMC for Edmonton. And even with both 50% retention on Carey Price and Patrick Kane. Edmonton would be screwed cap wise this summer once Darnell Nurses contract kicks in.

Obviously the trade is significantly in the Devils favor but to say Subban is hardly an NHL defensemen is pretty dumb

Not even close for Price. If you are trading for him it’s because you have seen him play and are confident that he has returned to form. Oilers are not going to trade for him without knowing what they are getting and the huge discount you put on his value assumes you are taking that risk, which no team ever will.

Add either Bourgault/Broberg and take back 2M of retention.
