Dallas can get way more for Klingberg, this would be declined easily.

Good thing they're not trading Heiksanen LOL.

But you're right, Klingberg will get a better return, and honestly, with the way Montour fits in with FLA and how he's playing, I don't see them moving him. This is more of a lateral move for them.

This may sound crazy but I don’t think the Panthers do this for a rental. Their need is to add a defenseman. Right now the weakest position on the team is the sixth D spot. Adding Klingberg would be great because all the other D could slide down a spot and make the 6D much stronger. But giving up Montour in the deal ruins that. He also has 2 more seasons on his contract at a fair AAV. Giving up Eetu would really hurt chemistry, as he has centered the 4th line which has been a very good energy line that is sent out at critical times. Also, it is the one line that has stayed intact most the season, as the other lines have missed players due to injury / Covid.
