We could probably do better for roslovic tbh. And I don’t think Minnesota would consider.

Agreed. I'd imagine it costs the Habs a 3rd just to dump Byron...a 2nd for Bemstrom and Roslovic is selling wayyyyyy too low.

    OILERS LAUGH AND DECLINE

Just putting that in there as an obligatory deadline trade. Doesn't have to be the Oilers! I just put that there because I figure they'll probably be buyers and because they've been floated for Korpi.

I'm not high on Korpi, personally, so the return is more for Nyquist. Dude has been lights-out the last few weeks and it looks like he's knocked off all the rust after his injury last year. He's been our best penalty killer and is a legit second-line forward. Two years of that at 50% retention is worth a first from someone, imo.

I'm a big believer in Bemstrom but don't think that there's a place for him in this lineup long-term with Chinakhov establishing himself and Marchenko on the way. Bemmer hasn't shown much so far, Portzline has basically said that if he doesn't carve out a lineup spot he might head back for Europe, so I don't think there's much trade value, but a team could take a flier on him in a package deal.

Roslovic was great last year and is an awesome story, but I don't think there's a long-term fit for him here. He's been pretty bad at center this year and has had his minutes decrease. He's best served as a top six RW on a line with a quality center. He's not taking a spot away from Bjorkstrand, and I think Texier/Chinakhov/Marchenko/Johnson are way more important building blocks. He's a really skilled player and a great skater, but he's not the center that they want him to be.

Commented above on Roslovic – I don't think he's well-rounded enough to fetch a first, but he does have some value as a skilled winger. Just doesn't warrant taking a spot away from some of the young guys coming up here for CBJ.

I could go either way on the Minnesota trade. The Jackets have a need for one more established defenseman (ideally on the right side) and Voracek at 50% retention is an extremely attractive piece for a contender. I think it'd be a good hockey trade, but maybe there's a defensive target out there who makes more sense.

I'd like to see Foudy take the next step, but packaging some of these guys (Foudy/Bemstrom+) to try to get a bonified C might make some sense (Assuming CLB doesn't get Wright), especially if you can keep Laine long term (Which I don't know will happen...).

Minnesota wouldn't do this under any circumstances at all especially for a position they don't need, or want

Minnesota is stacked with Wingers, so no , not really
They aren't trading dumba for a Winger they don't need much less taking on that contract

Roslovic isn’t worth a first. I’ll agree but a second would be too low. I’d want a second and a good prospect or 2 seconds like Andreas athanasiou got.

I think the jackets would make the dumba move. I don’t think Minnesota does. (Also Jake doesn’t waive most likely, seems happy to be back and have a leadership role which isn’t butting heads with other leaders on the team which was the rumor around philly.
