Why would you trade Zub? Younger than Dumba and better use of cap

I mean they’re a year apart, yet Dumba has like 500 games compared to Zubs 80. Much more experienced and established as a leader. I’m not saying this deal makes sense, but it’s understandable why someone would place more value on that vs age and contract.

not giving up thomson and a 2nd to get a different bad goalie that costs less when we're not in cap trouble

probably gonna need to add a pick to white to get labanc

stutzle>>>>>bouchard

i'd much rather keep zub and brannstrom, they fit the way we've built our lineup, and our competitive timeline, much better than dumba

Both teams decline on that oilers trade. Bouchard is very good, and underrated and plays the first pair for us. Stutzle, is another very good player, and plays top 6 for Ottawa. I don’t see either team trading players like that. If so, I would imagine we would have to add a bit, but I rather not.

Really? Why would Seattle want Murray and his atrocious contract? They already have Grubauer at $6M, can’t imagine they are eager to have over $12M in goalies.

Don’t know anything about the prospects included but I take Soucy+Dreidger over Murray+2nd any day of the week

I am looking at this trade from Ottawa's perspective.

Not Seattle's.

Would rather keep Labanc. His contract is up in 2 years and White is 3 more years. If neither of them reach their potential at least Labanc is off the books sooner.

Thomson is a 2019 1st, made his NHL debut this year and looks like he could be a solid 2nd pair RD. Gambrell was just acquired from SJ for a 7th this year, so not much there for value but we can say that Gambrell and True cancel each other out.

I agree that Murray and a 2 would be worth the trouble of picking Soucy up. But throwing Thomson in tips the scales considerably. An additional layer to this is that Driedger actually started his career in Ottawa and it didnt go great... they pretty much gave up on him and let him walk for free before he went to Florida.

So Driedger > Murray and Soucy > Murray and a 2nd but I dont know if Ottawa would be jumping at getting Soucy for Thomson and a 2nd done, especially considering they have Sanderson and Chabot on the left already. In the end I have to agree with @sensonfire that the trade is pretty awful for Ottawa.

Labanc makes 5.875 the next 2 years while White makes 4.75 (that 3rd year will be costly though so I suspect Melnyk will want his GM to move him, ala Dadonov)

White is a solid player even if not scoring, Ottawa has missed him a lot for the bottom-6 this season. So I'd rather keep Chabot's best friend

Pretty good assessment and pretty realistic something that is a bit rare on this website lol

Ottawa would really like Bouchard, but not at Stu expense. Edmonton would like Stutzle but not at Bouchard's expense and whatever else asset it would cost.

That statement wouldn't be very popular with people/Sens fans who follow him play in AHL/NHL and even Europe. And Sens fans can be very harsh with players who really suck

The fact that you wrote "Eric" also reveals that you don't know much, if anything, about the said player.

No one said he is as good but he might not be as far as you seem to think, particularly when you said "a bunch of nothing", EDIT : which was a dumb comment

It's either learn about hockey or learn about how to speak as an adult. You have a choice here.

Which made me look dumb,? Your comment make you look ignorant and defensive. Don't come here attacking me because you are the one being childish and dumb. How about you learn about hockey or people because your comment proves you know nothing. Learn t0 be an adult 1st.

Regarding Erik b, who cares how one spelks a players name, I do know about him and how he's not any good.

lol it was easy to get you riled up

You made a dumb comment, people called you out for it. Just deal with it

And if you knew enough about the player, you'd surely be able to spell a very easy Erik instead of Eric.

And please know that no matter how much you try to insult me, it can only make me laugh.

That being said, sorry I might not have worded it properly so maybe you took it the wrong way as I have no interest in going into personal pissing matches. I edited
