I am on the fence with this one, Byron is one of our team leaders and can still put up 15+ goals but his durability seems to have fallen off. Zaitsev is an ok bottom pairing D man but we don't really need that we need a 2nd pairing D man. Savard for the 2nd seems fair but then we get the cap space as well. So losing Byron and Savard for Zaitsev and a 2nd doesn't hurt as much. Personally I would probably pass, not that it's a bad deal just would rather keep Byron than get Zaitsev.

Taking on Byron was more so a cap dump due to Montreal's cap situation. Ottawa has no need for him, so it would be fine to not include him in the trade.

I'd do this trade from Habs perspective, easy. To be quite honest though, im a little surprised you'd want to.
