Adding goal depth to their top first line is not important?
And Girard ice-time as been reduce lately due to Bowen success... would you prefer trading Bowen?

Byram on leave from team. Avs can't risk trading Girard for right now

Girard has become Byram's partner. Moving him doesn't make room for Bo. Girard also has more value than Toffoli, both in a vacuum and to the Avs.

I can see Colorado having interest in Toffoli, but it wouldbe for futures. They won't give up an important piece of their roster.

Avs don’t have to trade any of their dmen, byram has a spot on the top 4 alraady and avs have one of the top offenses in the league

Kadri is one of the leagues leading scores, same as makar. They are not a top line only offense,

I thought that adding Toff to Kadri would give a lot more punch as 70% comes from the first... and Kadri!
I love watching the Avs game... and I see Toffoli to be a good addition (30G/year guy)... not trading you Armia, Hoffman or Lehkonen... they are all garbage to me.
look yesterday:
Toews- Makar (25min)
Murray- Girard (playing off-side)
J-J (actually Erik jump playing with Girard a Murray struggle bit yesterday)
Where was Bo??? He should have play instead of Murray I agree but they are all Left handed

-Toffoli is solid, but they have the most goals scored in the NHL, in 3 fewer games than the team that's number 2 (All the while missing Nate for 8 games, Landy for 5, and Nuke for 11 (17 pts in 20 games Sticking Out Tongue) ...don't think goal scoring is an issue.
-Girard has played less than 20 minutes 4 times out of 31 games this season. He's averaging his 2nd highest TOI in his career, and was paired with Byram. You trade away Girard and all of the sudden you've dug a hole in your top 4 that needs to be filled with one of Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, or Ryan Murray...all are large steps in the wrong direction.
-MacKinnon signing shouldn't be an issue, and if they need to move Girard down the line to make room, so be it...they're contending right now and robbing Peter to pay Paul (When Paul is already rich AF) makes zero sense.

As for the Oilers trade, Edmonton handcuffs themselves long term by adding Price at $8.5 mil, even if they've shed $4.5 in Barrie.

Adding toffoli is not the issue, grossly over valuing him thinking he nets a girard is what the major issue is

And no byram doesn’t make girard expendable

price would only be an interesting piece at this kind of cost to edmonton when its the offseason and more is retained. They aren't going to even sniff price at a 7.5AAV as they have key guys they need to sign the next couple of offseasons

We're not at a cap crunch like Tampa, so there's no reason to assume that Girard has that low of value, ESPECIALLY with the term + contract he's on.

I think you are just making things up. Toffoli doesn’t sniff the top line in COL, also why does COL need more scoring when they lead the league in scoring. So Girard’s reduced role still has him playing 20 minutes + a game. Your logic only makes sense if you are a MTL fan that wants to get Girard, who is younger, better, and signed longer term than Toffoli on a steal of a deal. There isn’t a situation that exists that the Avs make this trade.
