Adding goal depth to their top first line is not important?
And Girard ice-time as been reduce lately due to Bowen success... would you prefer trading Bowen?
-Toffoli is solid, but they have the most goals scored in the NHL, in 3 fewer games than the team that's number 2 (All the while missing Nate for 8 games, Landy for 5, and Nuke for 11 (17 pts in 20 games
) ...don't think goal scoring is an issue.
-Girard has played less than 20 minutes 4 times out of 31 games this season. He's averaging his 2nd highest TOI in his career, and was paired with Byram. You trade away Girard and all of the sudden you've dug a hole in your top 4 that needs to be filled with one of Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, or Ryan Murray...all are large steps in the wrong direction.
-MacKinnon signing shouldn't be an issue, and if they need to move Girard down the line to make room, so be it...they're contending right now and robbing Peter to pay Paul (When Paul is already rich AF) makes zero sense.
As for the Oilers trade, Edmonton handcuffs themselves long term by adding Price at $8.5 mil, even if they've shed $4.5 in Barrie.
