I feel like it makes sense, I just don’t get how they expect it to work with his vaccination status.

Kane is a POS person but a solid player and would do well with mcdavid.

Kane is fully vaccinated. It was reported before the suspension ended and verified by the AHL.

Okay thank you for the update I was unaware. That’ll work for sure then. I’m curious to see how this one goes.

lol I hope this is true. Had zero interest in Kane even with retention on his last deal. But I am so disinterested in the Oilers right now adding Kane adds some intrigue. Could work out or could be a disaster haha

My take on lines to even out the scoring. If you have a healthy line-up, Kane allows you to put Nuge on the 3rd line and go with a more balanced attack. Bottom 6 should no longer get caved and can McDavid and Draisaitl down to a reasonable amount of ice time. This is also on the assumption Holloway plays into the line-up. If not, pull Benson into that spot.

Holloway- Nuge-Hyman
McLeod-Ryan-Kassian

Go look at his playoff stats. He is terrrrrible in the playoffs which is where the oilers need the most help. It's saying something when you remove the teams best goal scorer and the team is better for it. Oilers are so top heavy it's funny. First round exit if you can get past the sharks lol

Not an oilers fan. I remember how much of a loser he was in Winnipeg. Good luck Edmonton

I'm shocked at how many Oilers fans are excited about this. Kane has gotten progressively worse as a teammate and person over his tenure as a Jet, Sabre and Shark. He screwed over the sharks in a big way and can't even apologize to the fans let alone even admit he's done wrong. Oilers must be extremely desperate. Holland said 2nd chances - this is Kane's 7th or 8th chance.

You think that far? He was practicing with the team prior to going on covid protocol the other day. Most definitely he gets a run in Bakersfield first, especially if Kane is in the picture.

I predicted he would be a very good player 3 months prior to his draft. Lots of studious draft followers disagreed. The kid is a stud, but he hasn’t played a game at any level in 8 months and he has never played pro hockey. He needs to practice his stick skills and once he knocks the rust off, he needs to adjust to the speed of the AHL.

Give him time, he needs it, perhaps less than I think, but Just keep your expectations low for this year. If he reaches the show, I’ll be cheering like hell for him.

You think you know what you're getting yourself into and you think you'll be the ones that can tame Kane. But you don't know, and you won't be the one.

God help you, Oilers.

I don't expect the Oilers to tame Kane. What I see is a 4 month low risk high reward bet. He's a top 6 forward that will sign for the rest of the year on close to a league minimum deal. If he strays, he goes to the AHL or terminates the contract. I firmly believe the max salary he will get will be the amount you can fully bury in the AHL. I'm on board with signing him for the remainder of the season but would not want to be the team that gives him a multi-year deal in the summer.

If he's playing well in Bakersfield, the Oilers 100% will give him a trial prior to the deadline.

You cannot tame Kane, you can only contain him for a short time. That is what this is, just long enough to help the team get out of the pits of despair and possibly go on a playoff run.

Just a bandaid, not stitches
Just some scratching for some itches
Adding some fast-firing muscle twitches
To a couple of powerful on-ice witches
Very well could pull this team out of the ditches
