Burnside didn't say the islanders were interested, he just speculated. This is the same guy that said the isles needed a puck moving D when all of Toews, Leddy, Pulock were on the team.

There is no chance they trade for Klingberg,

I agree. You know where I stand on Chychrun. That's the guy I would pay up (to an extent) for

It's just really weird for the isles to pay a big price for any defenseman available when they have two defenseman miles better than both Chychrun/Klingberg.

Maybe they plan on moving Mayfield or Dobson in the Klingberg trade? Or just move Mayfield in a separate deal and give Klingberg the 2RD spot, but that still leaves a hole at 2LD
