LA seems like the most likely fit and this is their golden opportunity, Even at the start of last season it was rumoured they were in the market for a young Top 4 LHS Dman, those dont grow on trees and they cant be snagged up from any team on the rise or contenders.

IMO LA needs to make that painful cut dipping into their future to make this trade, if not, there might not be another chance to get that young Top 4 LHS Dman

Yeah even though I think Chychrun is quite overrated, LA can't pass on that opportunity since they wouldn't be depleting their whole prospect pool.

I want Chych with the kings, but if they are giving up a 1st and Turcotte, why are they also giving up an RFA Kempe who is playing lights out? The Kings are in more need of goal scorers like Kempe than they are of Chychrun. The Kings are actually decent defensively, they are awful at scoring goals though.

I can agree with that. Chychrun is good, but I dont think hes this monster Top pairing Dman that his rep has evolved into since he has become available in Trade, however saying that, if a team has the need and the assets to go get him, you cant pass up that opportunity.

Its rare for teams to snag a Dman like Petry or Toews from a team for peanuts then they turn into beasts in their prime years as soon as their traded. Chychrun is a locked in Top 4 dman with term, you cant get a better sure thing in a trade than that

Who do you suggest as the "young roster player" then? I don't think Andersson/Lizotte fits the bill, and I wouldn't include M. Anderson if I were the Kings. Maybe Durzi? I think the goal-scoring problem will be fixed once the prospects take the expected leaps.

The OP is just meeting the trade framework mentioned by Marek. A 1st, a High End Prospect, and a good young NHLer.

Sean Walker, maybe? Chychrun isn’t exactly having a banner season. But the Kings have prospects and picks to make it happen without Kempe.

Turcotte is a recent top-5 pick, and is one of the top prospects who is expected to take those leaps and likely back into the lineup now that he is out of Covid protocol. Giving him up is already a haul.

But more importantly Kempe is on track for a 30 goal season on a team that is close to bottom of the league in scoring. Kempe alone would get back a first plus a great prospect at such a low cap hit.

I understand that, but the Kings wouldn’t move their leading goal scorer (kempe) when they are barely in a wild card position and need goal scoring desperately.

Sean Walker is 27 years-old, I don't think he would interest Arizona as the "young NHLer" piece.

To me, if the Kings are giving up Turcotte and a 1st they’ve already put themselves in a strong position to get Chych, any player after that won’t be a bigger piece than those two. If they want Athanasiou that’s fine.

thats why I said it would be a painful trade. To get what you ultimately need you have to move from a position of strength and for the Kings that is young fwds.

Wonder if LAK hasn't been planning to pry Travis Sanheim out of PHI, since he only has one more year left on his contract and seemed to have contentious negotiations w/PHI last time round.

Anderson-Dolan AND Sean Walker. I don't think it's going to be a three-element trade. Don't forget that Arizona is short on bodies; they have only 8 skaters under contract for next season.
